Cathedral
very nice indeed, looks like a church - also inside; you only go there if you have too much free time.

Royal Dockyards
Interesting for people of all age, and for girls with a boyfriend who is a sailor. There are five attractions which can be visited with a special ticket within twelve months (= one year)!

Mary Rose: they try very hard to get her accustomed to the English climate after some hundred years under water.

Beware: don’t be taller than 1.25 m if you want to see the HMS Victory, the oldest commissioned warship in the world.

HMS Warrior: First you should visit the Victory to enjoy the Warrior even more.

One of the many places where you can use your valid Student ID (if you have got one. Otherwise we feel sorry for your purse!)

City Museum, Museum Rd.
is be really good, shows the history of this old town

Seafront in Southsea
you see the sea, ships and the Isle of Wight. Really recommendable on a nice sunny day (also alone). Not really recommendable on a bad cold windy winter’s night (also with your boyfriend/girlfriend). All of the following sightseeing sights are sited on the seaside:

Southsea Castle

Sea Life Centre

D-Day Museum

Southsea Common (super!)

Portchester castle
very nice and very old. Only pay the entrance fee if you are not frightened by winding stairs. But the reward would be a marvellous view from the top of the Keep.

Portsdown Hills
Enjoy a magnificent view over Portsmouth. On a bright and clear day you also can see the Isle of Wight. Nowadays you might have the pleasure to meet a cow grassing the Hills.

Titchfield Abbey
a nice picture-stop
